Exeter Iron Bridge - 25th September 2025 - K Blasting Ltd – Mobile, Shot Blasting, Sand Blasting, Blast Cleaning, South West

Earlier this year, K Blasting started works and helped to complete the remedial project on the Historical ‘Exeter Iron Bridge’
Because of the age of the bridge and the close proximity of public buildings and shops, We could only carry out certain methods of mechanical cleaning.

Upon removal of the existing road surface, this exposed a small strip of original, unpainted railing, along the entire length of the bridge on both sides. It was K Blasting’s task to remove the rust using mechanical tools and the painstaking task of applying 4 coats of paint by hand to 150m.

All of the following work was either carried out on telescopic lifts on the outside of the bridge or on our hand and knees on the inside of the bridge.

It has been a good contract to be apart of but not without hard work
